The 400MB limit's just because we're on a cheap package at the moment.
I don't mind them limiting the upload speed - but I don't see why they have to limit the download speed at the same time. It must just be easier to implement.
You'd have had a real problem with my recent downloading of 6Gb YES Gb in 4 trenches. That really tied up my exchange for hours 'cos my download speed max's at 1.2Mb
Ah, I guess I'm responsible for this one. Brilliant reuse of the the xkcd comic though, can't believe they were so topical!
ReplyDeleteMind you I'll never forget a comment I heard during a networks lecture at uni -- never underestimate the bandwidth of a truck full of video tapes!
Duh!
ReplyDeleteP.S. It's not often the word verification is longer than the comment!
ReplyDeleteWell, I learnt something I didn't know about our Virgin Media Traffic management policy...
ReplyDeleteUpstream
When does it apply? 3PM - 8PM
Fair use amount 400MB
Level of speed reduction 75%
Duration of speed reduction 5h
oops, sorry about that. It seems weird to have such a small upstream limit. Downloading limits I can kind of understand but uploading seems weird.
